Pasadena Cartoon and Anime Society

We're low enough on samplers (and running out of The Ghost in the Shell episodes), we this Saturday we actually start on our too-long-for-one-night feature Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle 1. We'll be watching the first hour or so this Saturday, and finishing the last 90+ minutes next Saturday when we finish out our season.

Speaking of finishing out our season: it's time to start thinking about voting for next season's showings. We don't want to actually start the voting just yet - this is the week or so to make sure we get the voting spreadsheet updated with all the shows we want to pitch for next season.

Events this week:

• The original Ghost in the Shell movie has a 4K IMAX theatrical run Friday, September 18 - Wednesday, September 23. We're finishing the 2026 TV series this Saturday - might be interesting to head out to theaters and get a clear comparison of the original anime adaptation against the closest anime adaptation the source material has ever had.
• Crunchyroll has the 4K remaster of Akira in theaters through at least Thursday September 21. Or rather, in just 1 theater locally - the Alamo Drafthouse in downtown LA.
• In contrast, Coyote vs. Acme is still going strong in lots of theaters, running through at least Thursday, September 24.
