We're a mostly-anime club that usually meets in the Pasadena area Friday and Saturday evenings. Currently we're doing hybrid showings, both in-person for fully COVID-vaccinated folks at members' homes, and online via our Discord server. Our showings usually run 6:30 - 10:30 Pacific Time.
As expected, the Crunchyroll Store "Final Sale" that ran through August 17th was the last gasps of whatever remained of RightStuf as a general anime retailer. As of Tuesday August 18, the Crunchyroll Store no longer listed any manga, manwha, light novels. It also discarded all anime which wasn't either exclusive to the Crunchyroll store or released by Aniplex of America or Funimation/Crunchyroll, even titles where the physical release only happened via sublicensing from Crunchyroll. The store also got rid of wishlists - not just your existing wishlists, but the whole feature was discarded. And while access to the store isn't locked to Crunchyroll members with the 2 highest subscription levels, other folks can only see the store and add items to their cart: if they want to check out (i.e. actually purchase things), they need to either login as members at one of those subscriptions levels or subscribe as part of the checkout process.
In other news: the MediaOCD Store has put up their newest Discotek Deep Dive. You know, in case you're having trouble buying them from other anime stores.
As for us: we modified last Saturday's schedule a bit since both Guy and Brian couldn't make it, leaving us to finish Kill Blue this week and pushing back the Dirty Pair OVAs to next Saturday. We also don't start Dorohedoro season 2 just yet - we still have episode 12 and the OVA from season 1. However, we are starting The Ghost in the Shell this Saturday, and this Friday we start both Clevatess II and Saga of Tanya the Evil season 2. And we may have someone new showing up this weekend!
