We're a mostly-anime club that usually meets in the Pasadena area Friday and Saturday evenings. Currently we're doing hybrid showings, both in-person for fully COVID-vaccinated folks at members' homes, and online via our Discord server. Our showings usually run 6:30 - 10:30 Pacific Time.
This is the last week of our Summer season, and we're actually running out of samplers partway through Friday night. I've set us up to re-sample Steel Ball Run now that the 2nd episode is up on Netflix (and they claim that "parts 2 and 3" will air new episodes weekly starting with today's - though I have no idea what all goes in parts 2 and 3 or how many episodes they're likely to cover). We can also re-sample a different show people want to consider for voting over the next week - maybe episode 2 of The World is Dancing or something else where episode 1 wasn't quite enough to make a decision.
Speaking of voting on next season's shows: this is a good chance to add any other contenders to the voting spreadsheet. Wait much longer and people may have already voted and missed the chance to support your nominee. of course, we'll have plenty of time for voting and re-sampling next Friday night - almost no Fall samplers will be available - but we do want to leave some time set aside to watch the Zombie Land Saga movie, not to mention the final episode of Clevatess II (it doesn't stream until 9/30).
By next Saturday we should have plenty of grenades to throw ourselves onto new shows to sample, reserving time only for the final Dirty Pair OVA episodes and schedule-building. And for this Saturday we're finishing out Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle 1. The remaining segment is 95 minutes, so I've paired it with a couple of very short samplers after intermission - we don't have to stick to that, but that would keep the time before and after break more or less even.
