Week 0 Anime Los Angeles 18 was this weekend (ALA 17 was 2022, ALA 16 was 2020 - nothing in 2021 due to COVID). Alan attended the con a few hours at a time on 3 of the days. Notes: Showings tonight were fully remote - neither Stevezilla nor David showed up in person. David didn’t feel well, so he asked that Saturday showings be fully remote. We started by getting people to look at the voting spreadsheet, sampled Do It Yourself!! episode 2 by David’s request. Then we watched Romantic Killer episode 2, since it was at 3 votes and the breakpoint appeared to between 3 and 4 votes. Our next re-sampler was Uncle From Another World episode 2. We then re-watched episode 1 of Management of a Novice Alchemist, since it had qualified for the schedule, but some folks hadn’t seen it. After break, David realized he hadn’t seen last week’s episodes of Jojo, so he dropped off the call. Notes: Adam and Alan were about 1 timeslot late, but we didn’t have a lot on the schedule. We started with schedule-building, followed by My Hero Academia 127 (the last episode of 2022, at least as aired), finished up schedule-building, and went into Bastard!! episodes 13-14 After intermission we decided to sample: Farming Life In Another World (HD) - isekai wish-fulfillment, about as interesting as a rice cracker. It's no Primitive Technology, that's for sure. Spy Classroom (HD) - I think it was David who pointed out that everything in this show was so stupid it made Spy x Family look like it was about serious espionage in comparison. Not stupid in a very entertaining way, sadly. Tomo-chan Is a Girl (CR) - romcom with slapstick; in danger of having exactly 1 joke that wears out its welcome. Also, here's the schedule we built:

Also, Alan was giving away a bunch of stuff this weekend. Alan’s Mac had been updated to Ventura, which broke audio streaming via Discord. That and waiting for people to arrive caused us to start about 1 episode late. Alan eventually got his audio streaming working (hint: install Audio Hijack, let it install the new version of ACE), but we ended up 2 episodes behind and decided to hold off on Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer.
